Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of News Production to lead and innovate our news production team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and execution of compelling news content across various platforms, driving our mission to deliver accurate, timely, and engaging news coverage. Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of news production, aligning with editorial goals and audience engagement strategies.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of producers, editors, and technical staff to enhance their skills and foster professional growth.
- Oversee the production process from concept through execution, ensuring adherence to deadlines and high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including editorial, digital, and broadcast departments, to integrate innovative storytelling techniques and technologies.
- Analyze audience metrics and feedback to continuously improve content quality and viewer engagement.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in news production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in producing and directing news content across multiple platforms, including digital, broadcast, and social media.
- Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, standards, and legal considerations in news production.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams through high-pressure environments.
Preferred:
- Experience with audience analytics tools and digital content strategies.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in news production, such as AR/VR, live streaming, and data journalism.
- Advanced degree in Journalism, Communication, or a related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in production software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer, and various content management systems.
- Deep understanding of broadcast standards and technical workflows.
- Experience with video editing, sound design, and graphics production.
