Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Switchboard Operator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the switchboard operations while ensuring seamless communication across various departments. Your expertise will help us maintain efficient call management and enhance our overall communication strategy.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the switchboard team to ensure efficient call routing and management.
- Develop and implement effective communication protocols to enhance interdepartmental connectivity.
- Train and mentor switchboard operators, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and professionalism.
- Monitor call flow and address any issues, ensuring minimal disruption to communication services.
- Collaborate with IT and telecommunications teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to switchboard systems.
- Maintain accurate records of calls and communication logs, analyzing data to improve operational efficiency.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalated calls and complex communication inquiries.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a switchboard or telecommunications role, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of managing switchboard operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems and call management software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a corporate setting with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with VoIP systems and advanced telecommunications technologies.
- Ability to analyze data and implement improvements based on call metrics.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating switchboard systems and call management software.
