Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Operating Room Technician to join our healthcare team. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient functioning of our operating rooms by leading a team of technicians and collaborating closely with surgical staff. Your expertise will contribute to the overall safety and effectiveness of surgical procedures while promoting best practices in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations in the operating room, ensuring all protocols are followed and standards of care are maintained
- Lead and mentor a team of operating room technicians, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal surgical workflows
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
- Implement and monitor compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge
- Evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and patient safety
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as an Operating Room Technician or in a similar role
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and operating room management software
- Advanced certifications in surgical technology or related areas
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in the use of surgical instruments and equipment
- Familiarity with sterilization processes and infection control protocols
- Experience with operating room management systems and EHRs
