Responsibilities
- Lead the fitting and adjustment of surgical appliances, ensuring precise measurements and optimal comfort for patients.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to determine patient requirements and establish treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments and consultations with patients to understand their specific needs and preferences.
- Supervise and mentor junior fitters and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of fittings, adjustments, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical appliances and fittings, incorporating new techniques and technologies into practice.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Surgical Appliance Fitter (CSAF) or equivalent credentials.
- 5+ years of experience in surgical appliance fitting or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomical structures and the ability to interpret medical specifications.
- Proven leadership experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD/CAM technologies in appliance design and fitting.
- Strong understanding of patient care protocols and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using fitting tools and equipment, including measuring devices and adjustment instruments.
- Experience with 3D imaging and modeling software for custom appliance design.
- Familiarity with healthcare software for patient management and record-keeping.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and healthcare teams.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring all fittings meet quality and safety standards.
