Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Orthotic Fitter to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for fitting and customizing orthotic devices while collaborating closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will guide both clinical and technical teams in enhancing the quality of care provided to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs through comprehensive evaluations, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate orthotic solutions.
- Fit and adjust orthotic devices, ensuring comfort, functionality, and compliance with prescribed treatment plans.
- Lead the training and development of junior fitters and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to devices as required.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of protocols and procedures to enhance service delivery.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certification as an Orthotic Fitter from an accredited organization.
- 3+ years of experience in orthotic fitting or related field with a track record of successful patient outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of orthotic devices, materials, and fitting techniques.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
- Continuing education in orthotics or related fields.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using orthotic fitting tools and technologies.
- Understanding of biomechanical principles and their application in orthotic design.
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems for orthotic fabrication.
