Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lead Surgery Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Lead the scheduling team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and timely surgical scheduling
- Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare providers to assess and prioritize surgical needs
- Manage the surgical schedule, optimizing the use of available resources while minimizing delays and cancellations
- Utilize scheduling software to maintain up-to-date records and facilitate efficient communication across departments
- Monitor and analyze scheduling metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Act as a liaison between surgical teams, administrative staff, and patients to ensure clear communication and satisfaction
- Develop and implement best practices for scheduling processes and maintain compliance with relevant regulations
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss scheduling challenges and propose solutions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in surgical scheduling or healthcare administration
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and associated requirements
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field
- Experience in a surgical or clinical environment
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards
