Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Substation Electrical Supervisor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical substations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical specifications. As a leader, you will drive projects from conception through implementation, while mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the construction and maintenance of electrical substations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to determine the integrity and performance of substation equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with project management teams to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring the implementation of best practices in design and construction.
- Interact with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and requirements.
- Mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and a commitment to safety and quality.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on substations and power systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and practices.
- Proven experience in project management and leadership roles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with SCADA systems and automated control systems.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and their integration into the grid.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in electrical systems design, operation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with software tools for project management and electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
- Knowledge of industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, and OSHA regulations.
