Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Stationary Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of our facility's stationary equipment and systems. In this critical leadership role, you will ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards while managing a team of engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of all stationary equipment, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Monitor system performance, conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting complex issues
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety and environmental standards
- Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance and operational costs, ensuring cost-effective solutions
- Provide technical guidance and training to engineering staff, promoting a culture of safety and excellence
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize facility operations and respond to emergency situations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in stationary engineering or a related field, with a focus on industrial or commercial facilities
- Valid Chief Stationary Engineer license or equivalent certification
- Extensive knowledge of boiler systems, HVAC, and other mechanical systems
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team of engineers and technicians
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in building automation systems and energy management software
- Expertise in HVAC design and operation
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE and NFPA
