Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee and enhance the maintenance operations of our vehicle fleet. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet, while managing a talented team of technicians and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs to optimize fleet performance and minimize downtime
- Manage day-to-day fleet maintenance operations, including scheduling repair work and preventative maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of fleet vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, driving strategic decisions
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely acquisition of parts and supplies necessary for maintenance operations
- Oversee budget management for fleet maintenance, ensuring cost-effective operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong analytical mindset
Preferred:
- Experience with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems
- Certifications in automotive repair or fleet management (e.g., ASE, FMCSA)
- Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management in a maintenance context
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in fleet management and maintenance software tools
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair procedures
- Understanding of telematics systems and their application in fleet operations
