Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving Manager to oversee our receiving operations within our logistics department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of incoming goods, maintaining inventory integrity, and leading a team to meet operational goals. Your strategic oversight will help enhance our supply chain efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the receiving process, ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately checked, documented, and stored according to established protocols.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving operations, aiming for continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Lead, mentor, and train receiving staff, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock discrepancies, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize inventory management systems to track incoming shipments and maintain up-to-date records.
- Analyze receiving data to identify trends and areas for improvement, reporting findings to senior management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a receiving or warehouse management role, with a proven track record of effective team leadership.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and logistics operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with warehouse management software.
Preferred:
- Experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards pertinent to warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification and experience with operating warehouse equipment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and RFID technology.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
