Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Real Estate Appraiser to lead our appraisal team in evaluating properties to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. In this role, you will oversee complex appraisal assignments, mentor junior appraisers, and implement best practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of our appraisal processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of appraisers, providing guidance on complex appraisal assignments and methodologies
- Conduct thorough reviews of appraisals to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulatory standards, and adherence to company policies
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of appraisal staff
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide expert appraisal insights
- Stay current with market trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in appraisal technology to inform team practices
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders, articulating appraisal findings and recommendations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license
- 5+ years of experience in real estate appraisal, with a proven track record in supervising appraisal teams
- In-depth knowledge of appraisal methodologies, market analysis, and valuation principles
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
Preferred:
- Experience with commercial real estate appraisal and property tax assessments
- Familiarity with appraisal software tools and technology
- Professional designations such as MAI or SRA from recognized appraisal organizations
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in appraisal software platforms (e.g., Argus, ACI, or similar)
- Strong understanding of property valuation techniques including cost, income, and sales comparison approaches
- Experience using geographic information systems (GIS) for property analysis
