Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radiology Manager to oversee our radiology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services while optimizing workflow efficiencies and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of radiologic technologists and support staff in providing exceptional patient care and advancing departmental objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the radiology department, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, including The Joint Commission and state health departments.
- Supervise and mentor radiologic technologists and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of imaging quality and patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care pathways and imaging protocols.
- Monitor departmental budgets and financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Stay abreast of advancements in radiology technology and practice, integrating new techniques and equipment as appropriate.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current certification and licensure in Radiologic Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in a radiology department, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage operational workflows effectively.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
- Experience with PACS systems and radiology information systems (RIS).
- Familiarity with budget management and financial analysis in a healthcare setting.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- In-depth understanding of radiology equipment and technology, including MRI, CT, and X-ray systems.
- Proficiency in healthcare management software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Experience with quality assurance methodologies and accreditation processes.
