Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and analytical Director of Program Evaluation to lead our evaluation initiatives. This role is integral in enhancing our organizational impact by designing and implementing comprehensive evaluation frameworks that assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-driven insights guide our program strategies and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust evaluation strategy that aligns with organizational goals and objectives
- Lead the design of evaluation methodologies that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative research techniques
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to assess program performance and impact
- Collaborate with program teams to embed evaluation practices into program design and implementation
- Prepare and present evaluation findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership and external partners
- Mentor and guide evaluation staff, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Manage partnerships with external evaluators and research institutions to enhance evaluation capacity
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in program evaluation, research, or a related field with a proven track record of leading evaluation initiatives
- Strong knowledge of evaluation methodologies and statistical analysis
- Experience in developing and managing evaluation frameworks and tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and actionable manner
Preferred:
- PhD in a relevant field
- Experience in a leadership role within a nonprofit or public sector organization
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and software
- Proven experience in managing budgets and resources for evaluation projects
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata)
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau)
- Strong understanding of data collection methods, including surveys and interviews
- Experience with program monitoring and performance measurement systems
