Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Support Manager to oversee our production support team in delivering exceptional service and ensuring the reliability of our applications. This role is critical in maintaining operational excellence and driving continuous improvement in our support processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of production support engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
- Manage incident response and resolution processes, ensuring timely and effective resolution of production issues.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for support operations, utilizing data-driven insights to improve service quality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address root causes of recurring issues, driving proactive improvements.
- Implement and optimize support tools and processes to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated support issues, managing communications with stakeholders and ensuring transparency throughout the resolution process.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for support processes, systems, and troubleshooting guides.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in production support or related IT operations role, with a proven track record of managing complex systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and driving performance metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with experience in incident management and root cause analysis.
- Deep knowledge of ITIL best practices and experience implementing service management frameworks.
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and incident management tools (e.g., Splunk, PagerDuty, ServiceNow).
- Relevant certifications in IT service management or project management (e.g., ITIL, PMP).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools to streamline support processes.
- Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and system performance monitoring.
- Understanding of application architecture and software deployment processes.
