Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Probate Judge to oversee legal proceedings pertaining to matters of wills, estates, and guardianships. In this role, you will ensure the fair and just administration of justice in accordance with the law, while also providing guidance and interpretation of legal principles to involved parties.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hearings and make determinations regarding the validity of wills, the appointment of executors, and the distribution of assets
- Interpret and apply probate laws to ensure compliance with legal standards
- Issue rulings on disputes related to estate management and guardianship matters
- Provide legal guidance to parties involved in probate proceedings and ensure that all parties are treated fairly
- Maintain accurate records of court proceedings and rulings, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with legal counsel, court staff, and other officials to facilitate smooth court operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Jurist Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Valid license to practice law in [$COMPANY_LOCATION]
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on probate, estate planning, or family law
- Strong understanding of probate law, estate administration, and guardianship procedures
