Role Overview
We are looking for a Predator Control Supervisor to lead our wildlife management efforts, focusing on the effective and humane control of predator populations. This role is essential in ensuring the balance of ecosystems while promoting the safety and conservation of native species. As a crucial member of our team, you will manage field operations, coordinate with stakeholders, and implement strategic predator control initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate predator control operations, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Develop and implement effective predator management plans in collaboration with wildlife biologists and environmentalists
- Train, mentor, and supervise field staff in best practices for humane trapping, relocation, and population monitoring
- Conduct regular assessments and data collection to evaluate the success of control measures and adjust strategies accordingly
- Engage with local communities, government agencies, and conservation organizations to promote awareness and support for predator management initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, showcasing the impact and effectiveness of predator control efforts
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in wildlife management, conservation biology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in wildlife control or management, with a focus on predator species
- Strong knowledge of local wildlife regulations and humane trapping techniques
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a field-based environment
Preferred:
- Experience with ecological research and data analysis
- Familiarity with GPS and mapping technologies for tracking and monitoring wildlife
- Certification in wildlife control operations or related field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of wildlife tracking and trapping equipment
- Knowledge of data collection methodologies and statistical analysis software
- Experience with GIS software for habitat mapping and predator distribution analysis
