Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Bird Trapper to join our conservation team in protecting local ecosystems. As a Bird Trapper, you will play a crucial role in the humane capture and relocation of birds to ensure their safety and the preservation of biodiversity. You will employ various trapping techniques while adhering to ethical standards and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement effective trapping strategies tailored to specific bird species and habitats
- Utilize various trapping methods such as mist nets, baited traps, and specialized equipment to capture birds safely
- Conduct regular assessments of trapping sites to monitor bird populations and ecological health
- Work closely with wildlife biologists and conservationists to analyze data and contribute to research projects
- Ensure compliance with all wildlife protection laws and ethical guidelines in trapping practices
- Educate the community on bird conservation efforts and the significance of humane trapping
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience in bird trapping, wildlife management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of avian behavior and ecology
- Ability to work independently in remote outdoor environments
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal wildlife regulations
Preferred:
- Certification in wildlife handling or trapping techniques
