Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Postal Service Window Clerk to oversee operations at our postal service locations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that the window operations run smoothly while providing exceptional customer service. You'll lead a team of clerks, handling complex transactions, and maintaining compliance with postal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily window operations to ensure efficient customer service delivery and adherence to established protocols.
- Train and mentor new clerks on best practices in service delivery, transaction handling, and compliance with postal policies.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and resolve complex issues to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with postal service regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels effectively.
- Collaborate with management to optimize operational workflows and improve service efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within postal services or retail environments.
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Preferred:
- Experience working with postal service systems and regulations.
- Previous training or mentorship experience in a retail or customer service setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in point of sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of postal service software and tools.
