Role Overview
As a Postmaster at [$COMPANY_NAME], you will lead the efforts in managing our email infrastructure, ensuring high deliverability and security of our communications. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the email architecture, including SMTP servers, anti-spam measures, and DMARC policies to ensure secure and reliable email delivery
- Monitor and analyze email performance metrics, including deliverability rates and bounce-back issues, to optimize and troubleshoot email campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate email solutions with existing systems while ensuring compliance with industry best practices
- Develop and enforce policies for email usage and security to protect against phishing and other cyber threats
- Stay updated with the latest trends in email technologies and security protocols, and provide recommendations for improvements
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience managing email systems in a corporate environment
- Proven expertise in email protocols including SMTP, IMAP, and POP3
- Strong understanding of email authentication technologies (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Experience with email service providers and tools such as SendGrid, Mailgun, or similar platforms
Preferred:
- Experience with email deliverability and compliance best practices
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash for automation tasks
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Email Marketing Manager (CEMM) or similar
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of email infrastructure, including server configuration and maintenance
- Experience with monitoring tools for email performance (e.g., Google Postmaster Tools, SendGrid Metrics)
- Understanding of security practices related to email communications and data protection
