Role Overview
We are searching for a dedicated and experienced Head Porter to oversee and manage our portering team. In this role, you will ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality service and support to our guests, while fostering a positive and efficient operational environment. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining our standards of excellence and enhancing the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the portering team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet service standards
- Implement and enforce operational procedures and protocols to optimize guest satisfaction and safety
- Coordinate the logistics of guest arrivals and departures, providing assistance with luggage handling and room assignments
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
- Interface with other departments to ensure a cohesive guest experience and address any operational challenges
- Manage inventory and supplies related to portering services, ensuring availability and quality
- Act as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries and concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience in a portering or hospitality role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service excellence
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience in luxury hospitality or boutique settings
- Proficiency in multiple languages
- Knowledge of property management systems and scheduling tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Ability to utilize scheduling and inventory management software
- Competence in using communication tools for team coordination
