Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Master Plastic Die Maker to join our innovative manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring the production of high-quality plastic components, where you'll leverage your extensive experience in die making to design, fabricate, and maintain precision dies that meet stringent specifications.
Responsibilities
- Design and fabricate complex plastic injection molds and dies while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct detailed analysis and troubleshooting of existing molds, identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop specifications for new mold designs, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the die-making process to guarantee product integrity.
- Train and mentor junior die makers and apprentices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs, modifications, and maintenance activities to support compliance and traceability.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in plastic die making or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully completing complex projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software for mold design, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of materials science, particularly polymers, and their properties relevant to die making.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience with automation in the die-making process or familiarity with CNC machining.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
- Certifications related to mold making or machining processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in mold design, fabrication, and repair techniques.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Experience with injection molding machinery and processes.
