Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Adjunct Photography Professor to join our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will teach and inspire the next generation of photographers by delivering engaging and comprehensive coursework in both theoretical and practical aspects of photography.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality course materials and lectures that cover fundamental concepts, techniques, and ethics of photography.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, guiding students in the use of various photographic equipment and software.
- Critique student work and provide constructive feedback to foster their artistic and technical growth.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure course content is relevant and impactful.
- Engage with students through meaningful discussions and encourage creative exploration.
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, ensuring that academic standards are met.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the photography curriculum.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in photography techniques, including digital and film photography, lighting, composition, and post-processing.
- Experience teaching photography or related courses at the college level.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of photographic styles and techniques.
Preferred:
- Professional experience in photography, including exhibitions or publications.
- Knowledge of contemporary photographic practices and emerging technologies.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and multimedia tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in photography equipment including DSLR and mirrorless cameras, lighting kits, and editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Familiarity with digital asset management and online portfolio development.
- Understanding of print production processes and techniques.
