Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with all regulations and delivering exceptional patient care. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, manage a team of pharmacists and technicians, and implement best practices to enhance workflow and medication safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations as well as organizational policies
- Manage and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Implement operational efficiencies and best practices to optimize workflow and enhance patient care
- Conduct regular reviews of pharmacy services and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure the safe and effective use of medications through continuous monitoring and evaluation of patient therapy
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive medication management and patient care services
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes to maintain best practices in pharmacy management
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy school
- Active pharmacy license in the state of practice
- 5+ years of pharmacy experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication management, and patient safety protocols
- Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team of pharmacy professionals
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical pharmacy setting or specialty pharmacy
- Board certification in a pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCOP)
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and electronic health records
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and medication dispensing systems
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate pharmacy metrics and performance
- Ability to utilize data-driven decision-making for pharmacy operations
