Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to lead our clinical programs and spearhead groundbreaking initiatives in mental health care. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of our psychiatry services, ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices, and improving the overall quality of care for our young patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery, patient outcomes, and overall departmental performance.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional development, research, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Engage in community outreach and advocacy efforts to promote mental health awareness and access to care for children and adolescents.
- Oversee the training and mentorship of psychiatric staff, providing guidance on clinical decision-making and professional growth.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and external stakeholders to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing clinical programs and improving patient outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the unique mental health needs of children and adolescents, along with experience in evidence-based treatment modalities.
Preferred:
- Experience in academic settings and involvement in teaching and mentoring future psychiatrists.
- Demonstrated success in developing innovative clinical programs and securing funding for mental health initiatives.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes in mental health care.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children and adolescents.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telepsychiatry platforms.
- Knowledge of current research and emerging trends in child and adolescent mental health.
