Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Patient Transport Supervisor to lead our transportation team in ensuring safe and efficient patient transfers within our healthcare facility. This role is essential in coordinating patient transport logistics, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the patient transport team, ensuring timely and safe transport of patients within the facility
- Develop and implement transport protocols that adhere to healthcare standards and best practices
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for patient transport, including staff assignments and vehicle management
- Monitor and evaluate transport performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and enhance service quality
- Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to transport staff, fostering a culture of safety and patient-centered care
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless patient handoffs and address any transport-related concerns
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in a healthcare transport or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of patient transport protocols and healthcare regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software
- Certification in healthcare transport or related area
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using scheduling and transport management software
- Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations and safety standards
- Familiarity with patient mobility aids and transport equipment
