Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a seamless patient experience by managing patient registrations, verifying insurance information, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the patient registration process, ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to privacy regulations
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and communicate coverage details to patients
- Assist patients with the completion of necessary forms and documentation, providing support to navigate complex insurance processes
- Coordinate with clinical staff to schedule appointments and ensure timely patient access to services
- Address patient inquiries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive relationships
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams to resolve discrepancies and facilitate efficient claim processing
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare or administrative fields is a plus
- 1+ years of experience in a patient access, front office, or administrative role within a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and patient management software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered service
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-line phone systems and handling high-volume calls
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems, such as Epic or Cerner
- Familiarity with insurance verification tools and databases
