Role Overview
We are searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Patent Paralegal to join our innovative legal team. In this role, you will support our patent attorneys in various aspects of patent prosecution and intellectual property management, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and compliance with legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and filing of patent applications, including drafting correspondence and ensuring adherence to deadlines
- Conduct thorough prior art searches and assist in the analysis of patentability
- Maintain and organize patent records, correspondence, and other documentation in compliance with internal procedures
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare responses to office actions and other communications from patent offices
- Support the management of patent portfolios and track deadlines for renewals and filings
- Research intellectual property laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documents for client meetings and presentations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- 1+ years of experience in a legal or paralegal role, preferably in intellectual property
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Completion of a paralegal certification program
- Familiarity with patent prosecution processes and intellectual property law
- Experience with patent databases and research tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with legal management software and document management systems
- Basic understanding of patent databases and search tools
