Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor of Parcel Truck Drivers to oversee our fleet operations, ensuring that our delivery processes are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with regulatory standards. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of drivers, optimizing routes, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of parcel truck drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of safety and service.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize delivery routes, reduce transit times, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including vehicle maintenance and driver safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries while managing unexpected challenges that may arise.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on operational efficiency.
Preferred:
- Experience in parcel delivery or freight transportation.
- Familiarity with logistics software and fleet management systems.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
- Understanding of GPS tracking systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Experience with data analysis tools to assess performance metrics.
