Role Overview
We are seeking a Chief of Paediatrics to lead our pediatric department, driving excellence in clinical care, education, and research. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of pediatric services while ensuring the highest standards of patient care for our youngest patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to the pediatric department, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and innovation
- Oversee clinical operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, patient safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance pediatric services and improve patient outcomes
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of pediatricians, nurses, and allied health professionals, promoting professional development and collaboration
- Engage with families and community stakeholders to understand their needs and enhance patient experience
- Drive research initiatives and promote evidence-based practices within the department
- Collaborate with other departments and executive leadership to align pediatric services with organizational goals
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or equivalent medical degree with board certification in Pediatrics
- 10+ years of clinical experience in pediatrics, with a significant portion in a leadership role
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric clinical practice and a deep understanding of pediatric healthcare delivery
- Strong track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives in a healthcare setting
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in healthcare management or related field (e.g., MBA, MHA)
- Experience in academic medicine or affiliated teaching hospitals
- Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding for pediatric research initiatives
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Strong understanding of pediatric health informatics and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Experience with data analytics to drive clinical quality improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with pediatric clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices
