Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Chief of Neonatology to lead our specialized neonatal care team, focusing on the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical care for critically ill newborns. In this role, you will drive clinical excellence, enhance patient outcomes, and shape the strategic direction of our neonatology services while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership in the management of neonatal care, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of excellence.
- Oversee the development and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies to optimize patient care and safety.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, promoting professional development and teamwork.
- Drive research initiatives to advance the field of neonatology and improve clinical practices.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with other departments to enhance the overall care continuum for neonatal patients.
- Participate in administrative duties including budget management, strategic planning, and program development.
- Represent the neonatology department in institutional meetings and committees.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Neonatology.
- A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in neonatology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex neonatal cases and a comprehensive understanding of neonatal care standards.
- Strong commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
Preferred:
- Experience with telemedicine and remote patient monitoring systems.
- Track record of successful program development and implementation in a clinical setting.
- Previous involvement in academic medicine or research initiatives.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical decision support tools.
- Experience with data analytics to inform clinical decisions and improve patient outcomes.
- Familiarity with neonatal transport systems and advanced life support technologies.
