Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Packaging Supervisor to lead our packaging operations. In this role, you will oversee the packaging team, ensuring that products are packaged efficiently and meet all quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. You will play a crucial part in optimizing packaging processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily packaging operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of packaging schedules
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing packaging team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with packaging standards and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and supply chain to optimize packaging processes
- Analyze packaging workflows and develop strategies for continuous improvement and cost reduction
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime
- Conduct training sessions on packaging techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on packaging operations and team performance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in packaging operations or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, machinery, and processes
- Proven ability to manage a team effectively and foster a collaborative work environment
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and quality standards in packaging
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with automated packaging systems and technology
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of packaging software and systems for workflow management
- Experience with data analysis tools to monitor and report on packaging performance metrics
- Knowledge of the latest packaging trends, materials, and sustainability practices
