Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Outboard Motor Mechanic to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshooting on outboard motors to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Execute high-quality repairs and maintenance procedures on various outboard motor brands, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed, including parts used and labor hours, to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to outboard motor maintenance and repair.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair needs and recommendations clearly to clients.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as an outboard motor mechanic, with a proven track record in diagnosing and repairing various outboard motor systems.
- Certification from an accredited marine service technician program or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of two-stroke and four-stroke outboard motor systems, including electrical and fuel systems.
Preferred:
- Experience with high-performance outboard motors and associated technologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools for troubleshooting.
- Marine industry certifications (e.g., OMC, Mercury, Yamaha, Honda) are a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of marine engines, including their mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with computer diagnostics and electronic fuel injection systems.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized marine diagnostic equipment.
