Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our innovative healthcare team. In this fully remote role, you will play a key role in supporting occupational therapists in delivering high-quality patient care, enhancing patient independence, and implementing therapeutic interventions that improve functional abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in the development and implementation of personalized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
- Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises under the direction of occupational therapists, ensuring compliance with established protocols and best practices.
- Document patient progress and provide regular feedback to the occupational therapy team to inform treatment adjustments.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies to facilitate ongoing care beyond therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient support and contribute to holistic care strategies.
- Mentor junior occupational therapy assistants and support their professional development through guidance and training.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy practices, principles, and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with specialized populations, such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or mental health.
- Certification in additional therapeutic modalities, such as sensory integration or neurodevelopmental treatment.
- Experience in telehealth service delivery and remote patient care.
