Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Ocean Program Administrator to support our ocean programs. In this role, you will play a vital part in coordinating initiatives that promote sustainable ocean management and conservation. You will assist in the administration of various projects, ensuring that they align with our mission and contribute to the ecological health of marine environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of ocean program initiatives, including project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including governmental agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
- Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to ocean health and program performance.
- Prepare documentation, presentations, and reports for internal and external audiences to communicate project progress and outcomes.
- Maintain program records and databases, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to engage stakeholders and promote knowledge sharing.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in marine science, environmental science, public administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in program administration or project management, preferably in an environmental or conservation context.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience working with ocean conservation programs or marine policy.
- Familiarity with data management tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software.
- Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation practices is a plus.
