Role Overview
As a Neurosurgical Nurse Practitioner at [$COMPANY_NAME], you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to determine patient readiness for neurosurgery.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of neurosurgical patients, including pain management and post-operative recovery strategies.
- Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, monitoring vital signs, managing complications, and evaluating patient progress.
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation plans to enhance understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to assist in operative procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner or equivalent.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license and board certification in a relevant specialty.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a surgical or critical care environment, with at least 1 year in neurosurgery.
- Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, surgical procedures, and management of neurosurgical conditions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a clinical setting.
- Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or similar.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in performing neurological assessments and interpreting diagnostic imaging.
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques and post-operative care protocols.
