Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Movie Production Manager to oversee the production process from concept to completion. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with directors, producers, and crew members to ensure that all aspects of film production run smoothly and efficiently, while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
Responsibilities
- Manage the production schedule, coordinating with various departments to ensure all milestones are met
- Oversee budgeting and financial management of the film production, ensuring all costs are tracked and reported
- Coordinate casting, hiring, and scheduling of crew members, ensuring alignment with production timelines
- Facilitate communication between creative and technical teams to ensure a shared vision is realized throughout the production
- Anticipate and resolve potential production issues, implementing solutions that minimize disruptions
- Maintain a safe working environment on set, ensuring compliance with industry safety regulations
- Conduct post-production assessments to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement in future productions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in film or television production management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
- Strong understanding of the film production process and industry standards
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing budgets
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Experience working on large-scale productions, including feature films or high-budget television
- Familiarity with production management software and scheduling tools
- Strong network of industry contacts including crew, vendors, and talent
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in production management software such as Movie Magic Scheduling, Final Draft, or similar tools
- Understanding of camera, lighting, and sound equipment used in film production
- Knowledge of post-production processes including editing, sound design, and visual effects
