Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Paraeducator to join our team, responsible for providing high-quality educational support to students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will lead a team of paraeducators, collaborating closely with teachers to enhance the educational experience and promote student success.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor paraeducators, ensuring adherence to individualized education plans (IEPs) and classroom management strategies
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs tailored to the needs of students, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment
- Coordinate with teachers to plan instructional strategies and interventions that support student learning objectives
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their goals
- Facilitate communication between educators, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with educational best practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associates degree or higher in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working with students in educational settings, preferably with special needs
- Strong understanding of diverse learning strategies and instructional techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Certification in Special Education or related field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance learning
- Familiarity with data tracking tools to monitor student progress
- Ability to adapt instructional materials for varied learning environments
