Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Melt Room Supervisor to oversee the operations of our melt room facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all melting processes are executed efficiently and safely while maintaining the highest quality standards. Your expertise will guide the team in achieving production goals, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily melt room operations, managing a team of operators and technicians to ensure optimal performance and adherence to production schedules.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Oversee the melting process, ensuring that materials are processed according to specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, quality control data, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to manage inventory levels and ensure timely supply of raw materials.
- Lead and participate in regular team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and performance improvements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or melting environment.
- Strong knowledge of melting processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and compliance standards in manufacturing.
- Relevant certifications in safety or manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting melting furnaces and related equipment.
- Experience with data analysis tools and production management software.
- Understanding of material properties and their impact on the melting process.
