Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine to lead our multidisciplinary team in advancing the care of pregnant individuals and their fetuses. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise, administrative acumen, and a passion for improving maternal and fetal health outcomes. You will be instrumental in shaping clinical protocols, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with specialists to deliver evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the maternal-fetal medicine department, ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and fetal health outcomes
- Mentor and train medical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other specialists to create comprehensive care plans for complex cases
- Engage in research initiatives to advance the field of maternal-fetal medicine and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in community outreach and education to promote awareness of maternal-fetal health issues
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- A minimum of 7 years of clinical experience in maternal-fetal medicine, including 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of successful quality improvement initiatives in a clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across multidisciplinary teams
Preferred:
- Experience with telemedicine and innovative care delivery models
- Active involvement in maternal-fetal medicine research with publications in reputable journals
- Leadership experience in a large healthcare organization
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in advanced diagnostic techniques, including ultrasound and fetal monitoring technologies
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical decision support tools
- Ability to analyze data and leverage insights to drive clinical excellence
