Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electrical Supervisor to lead and oversee electrical operations on board our vessels. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the integrity and functionality of electrical systems, while managing a team of technicians and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on marine vessels, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of electrical systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary upgrades.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to electrical technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot complex electrical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering or maintenance within the marine industry, with demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of maritime electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and communication systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Valid marine electrical certification and familiarity with maritime safety regulations.
Preferred:
- Experience with automation and control systems in a marine environment.
- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in marine electrical systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in marine electrical systems and components, including transformers, circuit breakers, and generators.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and techniques, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with electrical safety standards and regulations specific to marine operations.
