Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Machine Tool Technician Instructor to join our innovative educational team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to support the development of the next generation of machinists by delivering high-quality training and mentorship in machine tool operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and delivery of comprehensive instructional materials for machine tool operations, safety protocols, and maintenance techniques.
- Provide hands-on training and support to students, ensuring they develop practical skills in operating CNC machines and other machine tools.
- Evaluate student performance through practical assessments and provide constructive feedback to foster their growth.
- Collaborate with senior instructors to continuously improve course content and teaching methodologies based on industry best practices.
- Maintain a safe and organized training environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Engage with industry partners to align curriculum with current technological advancements and workforce needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Machine Tool Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with CNC machines and machining processes.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to impart knowledge effectively.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring future machinists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Education, or a related field.
- Prior teaching or training experience in a technical or vocational setting.
- Familiarity with current CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
- Certification from a recognized industry body (e.g., NIMS, AMT).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CNC lathes, mills, and other machine tools.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and its application in machining.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
