Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locomotive Electrical Supervisor to oversee the electrical maintenance and repair activities of our locomotive fleet. In this role, you will ensure compliance with safety standards while optimizing performance and reliability of electrical systems. You will lead a team of technicians, providing guidance and mentorship in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues.
Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical maintenance and repair activities on locomotives, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical systems, including traction motors, control systems, and auxiliary power systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures to enhance locomotive performance and reliability.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to electrical technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess and implement upgrades and modifications to electrical systems.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts used.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance and supervision within the rail industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of locomotive electrical systems, including AC and DC circuits, control systems, and power distribution.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of technicians.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with troubleshooting control systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Familiarity with rail industry regulations and safety standards.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
