Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Manager to oversee and enhance our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across all systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network solutions that support our organizational goals while providing leadership to our network engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and routers to ensure high availability and performance
- Lead network design projects, applying best practices in network security, scalability, and redundancy
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime and optimize user experience
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network services and equipment
- Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, policies, and procedures
- Train and mentor junior network engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience managing network infrastructure and services
- Proven expertise in network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
- Hands-on experience with network security tools, including intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience resolving complex network issues
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent
- Experience with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Ansible)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of LAN/WAN architecture and design principles
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark)
- Knowledge of VoIP technology and Unified Communications systems
