Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior LAN Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining our local area network (LAN) infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of network services while providing support to end-users. Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
- Support end-users by troubleshooting network connectivity issues and providing timely resolutions.
- Monitor network performance and security, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- Participate in the implementation of network upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with senior administrators on network projects and initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in a network support or administration role.
- Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Familiarity with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools and network management systems.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and common protocols.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
