Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join the technology team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliability of our IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, ensuring high availability and security across all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain server environments, including Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization.
- Oversee and manage network configurations, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring robust security protocols are in place.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure components.
- Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux operating systems, with hands-on experience in system administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including knowledge of cloud architecture and deployment models.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) for proactive system health checks.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Knowledge of security best practices and tools, including antivirus solutions and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
