Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Litigation Manager to join our legal team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the litigation process, coordinating case management activities, and ensuring that our legal strategies align with our organizational objectives. Your expertise will be vital in managing documents, preparing case materials, and liaising with external counsel to facilitate effective litigation outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of litigation cases from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
- Coordinate with attorneys and external counsel to prepare and organize case materials, including pleadings, discovery documents, and trial exhibits.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support litigation strategies and decision-making.
- Maintain and update case files, tracking relevant deadlines, court dates, and filings in a comprehensive case management system.
- Facilitate communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless case progression.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management regarding ongoing litigation matters and case assessments.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a legal support role, preferably within litigation.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, legal terminology, and court procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficient in legal research methodologies and case management software.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and document management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Experience with case management software and e-filing systems.
