Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Litigation Associate to join our legal team. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with limited experience who is eager to develop their litigation skills and contribute to a variety of cases. You will work closely with senior attorneys, gaining exposure to the full spectrum of litigation processes while advocating for our clients' interests.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all phases of litigation, including research, drafting pleadings, and preparing motions
- Conduct legal research utilizing various databases to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials
- Participate in client meetings and maintain effective communication throughout the litigation process
- Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and legal arguments
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in [$COMPANY_LOCATION] or eligibility to sit for the bar exam
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred:
- Prior internship or clerkship experience in a litigation setting
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software
- Experience with case management systems
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and platforms
