Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Managing Partner (Litigation) to lead our litigation practice. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the growth and direction of our litigation team, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring high-quality legal representation for our clients. You will leverage your extensive experience in litigation to enhance our service offerings, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the firm's overall strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the litigation practice and drive business development.
- Lead complex litigation cases, ensuring the highest standards of legal practice and client service.
- Mentor and guide a team of litigation attorneys, promoting professional development and performance excellence.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing effective legal solutions.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of cases in court, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
- Drive collaboration across practice areas to leverage expertise and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and participate in executive leadership discussions.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of litigation experience, with a proven track record in managing complex cases.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative legal strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within a litigation practice.
- Established network of professional relationships within the legal community.
- Experience in trial advocacy and significant courtroom experience.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, including discovery, pre-trial, trial, and post-trial procedures.
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and technology.
