Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Land Acquisition to lead our efforts in identifying, evaluating, and securing land opportunities aligned with our growth objectives. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive industry knowledge and network to drive land acquisition strategies that support our mission and enhance our portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land acquisition strategies to support the company's growth and development goals.
- Lead negotiations for land purchases, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, and local government agencies to identify potential acquisition opportunities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and feasibility studies to evaluate land parcels, including zoning, environmental assessments, and market analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment on acquisition strategies and requirements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and develop the land acquisition team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successful land acquisitions and negotiations in a competitive market.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess land value, market conditions, and investment risks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
- Familiarity with sustainable development practices and land use regulations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in land acquisition software and GIS tools for property evaluation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of real estate laws, zoning regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with financial modeling and investment analysis to support land acquisition decisions.
