Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of IT Project Management to lead our project management office (PMO) and oversee the successful delivery of complex IT projects across the organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the project management strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring alignment with our business objectives. Your leadership will empower teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet stakeholder expectations while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Establish and refine the project management framework, methodologies, and best practices to ensure effective project delivery across all IT initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive the strategic planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resource availability.
- Monitor project performance through key metrics and reporting, making data-driven decisions to mitigate risks and optimize project outcomes.
- Engage with executive leadership and key stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and resource allocations while managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Champion change management initiatives and ensure effective communication strategies are in place to facilitate project adoption and user engagement.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex IT projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive project success through collaboration and strategic vision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred:
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a technology-driven organization.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and their impact on project management practices.
