Role Overview
We are looking for a visionary Vice President of Technical Project Management to lead our project management office (PMO) in driving strategic initiatives and transforming complex technical projects into successful outcomes. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project governance frameworks, ensure alignment with corporate objectives, and elevate our technical project management practices to new heights.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the strategic vision for the PMO, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Drive the successful execution of large-scale technical projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Establish robust project governance frameworks, documentation standards, and performance metrics to measure project success
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize projects based on strategic alignment, resource availability, and risk management
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain project momentum
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in technical project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects in fast-paced environments
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and best practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project) to streamline processes
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Preferred:
- Experience in the technology industry, particularly within software development or IT services
- Relevant certifications, such as PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications
- Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in project management software and tools to track progress and deliverables
- Understanding of software development processes and lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in a project environment
