Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant IT Manager to support our IT department in managing technology solutions and leading a team of IT professionals. This role is critical in ensuring the effective deployment and maintenance of our IT infrastructure while aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance and security
- Support the IT Manager in overseeing daily operations of the IT department, including systems administration, network management, and help desk support
- Coordinate IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints
- Assist in the management of vendor relationships and service level agreements to optimize service delivery
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on new technologies and best practices
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and reliability of IT services
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT support or management roles
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and systems administration
- Proven experience in project management and team leadership
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
Preferred:
- Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Experience with cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and risk management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
- Familiarity with help desk software and ticketing systems
